Lease or buy

EVA can help you choose whether to lease or buy your next minibus.

Just a few of the considerations..

  • How much cash is available for the minibus ?
  • How will the minibus be used ?
  • How much should you budget for servicing and repairs ?
  • Who in the school will schedule and organise servicing, MOT and road tax ?
  • Who in the school will negotiate parts and labour rates for repairs?
  • Where is your nearest MOT centre for minibuses ?
  • How much will the minibus be worth in five years time?

In summary

  • Fixed monthly rental versus Variable cost ?
  • Risk of ownership - EVA or you ?
  • Maintenance risk - EVA or you ?
  • Low initial rental versus Large cash outlay ?
  • Vehicle admin - EVA or you ?

Why Lease?

Contract Hire allows you to enjoy the benefits of using a minibus without the potential headaches and risk of buying and running your own vehicle.

The fixed monthly rental includes servicing, mechanical and electrical repairs, tyre replacements, breakdown cover, MOT and road fund licence. Also included is EVA AfterCare giving you additional benefits and peace of mind.

Because Contract Hire rentals are fixed, you benefit from improved cash flow and precise budgeting and for a minimal initial rental you can have a brand new vehicle for much less than you would think.

Contract Hire is an operating lease meaning it’s risk free and not seen as a form of borrowing. This is key for many schools and colleges.

Why purchase ?

We still hear from schools who have decided for any number of reasons that they would prefer to pay cash and own their minibus.

Some of the reasons can be as follows

  • They only have money in a capital budget
  • If the funds were raised by a third party, school feels compelled to own.
  • The governors have always told the school to buy.
  • The school believes they have a qualified person to look after the vehicle

If you do decide to buy. Eva will support you and offer an EVA AfterCare on your owned buses
